Hello my name is Curtis.
I currently keep honey bee in my back garden.
Today I received a phone call from Leicester city council saying I can't or not allowed to keep bees on council property.
And the council want me to remove them.
There is no law saying that I can't have them .
I'm trying to do my bit for the enviroment and I really enjoy the bees .
Im looking for all the advice and I want your support I am going to fight it all the way I'm not getting rid of them.
please help.

Curtis really sorry to hear the council is playing silly buggers with you and your bees there are very few councils that would do this but the only way to find out is if it states that you can not keep bees on the contract you signed so have by-laws going back years or parish council by- laws. the council only get involved when some one has made a complaint. If all else fails i would ask the council to provied you with secure council land that you can keep you bees on but in the first instance ask them to provided the evidance that you can not keep the bees there

Thank mike the bee man for your advice.
Basicly there nothing in he tenancy argreement about bees. I can provide the link if required.
Someone did snitch to the council.
Now I have move the bees so now I just wait to see if I hear anything from the council.

I would wait till they write you a letter asking you to move the bees.
I rang the council today not yours and spoke to them regarding bees and they seemed ok.
they also said they would not ring a tennant but would write to them.
Give your council a call dont give them your name and ask them there rules on keeping bees

i have sent them email from a friend email with address there checking it for me.
i will not doing anything until I get the letters etc.
its just wait and see what happens.
